Nature Body 2025/2026
A group exhibition in the Alten Automatenwerk Feuerbach
Opening on Dezember 13, 2026, on view til Februar 8, 2026.
Extract of the introduction of Helena Brkić (Art historian) to the work of Barbara Karsch-Chaïeb
Barbara Karsch-Chaïeb’s “Shelter” introduces a structure into the space that oscillates between sculpture and protective space. Perspective is particularly central here: the work does not stand alone, but relates to its surroundings not only here in the room, but also through its materials from the forest in the Feuerbach district in the form of branches and earth. The question remains deliberately open as to whether it is a walk-in sculpture, an architectural thought model, or actually a place of protection. The fragile mesh appears both inviting and vulnerable—a body in space that itself seems in need of protection.
Part of the work is a “forest sound” by Christopher Williams/Stuttgart (Sound artist).
