A site specific installation, 2025

In three parts:

–Encounters / Aqua
one channel video installation, back projection on handmade paper.
-Encounters / Non Potabilis
glass bottle and plastic funnel, water from the Russian River and the North
Pacific.
-Encounter / Invisibilis
handmade paper, silk screen print, 17” x 13”, limited edition of 6 + 2.
The exhibition was shown from March 10 to March 22, 2025.
Opening on March 9, 2025

Encounters is the first collaboration of Karsch-Chaïeb and Liss (HB GROUP). The
project was conceived and created during Barbara Karsch-Chaïeb’s one month stay in Santa Rosa. The site specific installation addresses the issue of invisible micro plastic transported by the Russian River into the Pacific Ocean.
The project will be continued in other locations.

The ESCOLAR exhibition space is a shipping container that has been hosting exhibitions and concerts since 2019. ESCOLAR is an art and design research collective working at the intersection of regenerative agriculture and cultural production.

The exhibition was shown from March 10 to March 22, 2025.
