ONBOARDING

Kulturwerkstatt BT24 Münsingen

9 Positions at the intersection of art and craft.
Excerpt from the opening speech by Clemens Ottnad, M.A., art historian, Stuttgart, executive director of the Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg.

… In this sense, the round of artists participating in the current project Onboarding also shows a broad spectrum of artistic possibilities of expression, media and technical processes that have emerged in cooperation with local crafts, where the active artists themselves would not have progressed in the realisation of their works, or would have done so only inadequately. It ranges from wood, stone, earth, cardboard and paper to edible food. It encompasses all areas of human perception, including visual and walking research in the landscape, the exploration of acoustic stimuli in our immediate surroundings, and experiences with the senses of touch, smell and taste.

Barbara Karsch-Chaïeb has been doing research earth(en)exploration for many years. In connection with the Onboarding project, she is now having the
Gundelfingen and the surrounding area into her experiments with the traditional sgraffito technique. New life is breathed into a form of design expression that is considered outdated and variable wall modules and patterns are created.
