In Experiment with fire – earth – water – air

workshop: SA1-Ka

Monday, 02.08.2021 until Friday, 06.08.2021, from 10 am to 5 pm, Esslingen

The day begins with short philosophical text fragments read by me. They describe the relationship of the Hopi Indians in America to land, property, borders and Mother Earth. Artists from the field of Land Art and Site Specific Art will also be introduced.

The focus of the workshop is on increasing sensory awareness in dealing with nature and the elements, seeing closely and observing processes. Small works created in the landscape return to the natural cycle after the workshop. The four elements fire-water-earth-air are worked with in the workshop in a variety of ways. In our daily hike through the landscape surrounding the Esslingen Art Academy, we collect earth pigments and make our own paint. We light a fire and then draw with the charcoal and ashes that are produced. With the flow of the water and the movements of the wind, further exciting experiments are created.
Drawings, as well as experiences and thoughts can be recorded in the sketchbook, as well as photographically. Please bring weatherproof clothing. Material costs for sketchbook, paper and binder. Canvas material will be charged according to consumption.
